The University of Alabama is the most established university and a senior doctoral-level institution. The University was set up by the protected procurement under statutory commands and approvals. Its central goal is to propel the scholarly and social state of the general population of the state through quality projects of educating and research.
In 1818, the federal government authorized Alabama Territory to set aside a township for the establishment of a "seminary of learning." President Monroe signed the enabling act for statehood on March 2, 1819, and Alabama was officially admitted to the Union on Dec. 14, 1819, and a second township added to the grant. On December 18, 1820, the seminary was established officially and named "The University of the State of Alabama." Tuscaloosa, then the state's capital, chosen as the University's home. On April 18, of 1831 inaugural ceremonies held and the University opened. By May 28, 52 students had enrolled. The campus consisted of seven buildings: two faculty houses, two dormitories, the laboratory, the hotel (now Gorgas House), and the Rotunda.

More than 33% of the first year initiate class scored 30 or higher on the ACT, setting them in the fundamental 5 percent of students taking the ACT.
There is a barrage of cheap and inferior Alabama University flags being imported and sold, that do not comply with the flag statute. This is bad for a number of reasons. Imported flags are cheaply made and more importantly, the designs, materials, colors, and methods of printing do not compare well with the better quality, longer-lasting, and correctly designed flags made by American manufacturers. The Flag Company Inc specialized in flag designs offered a special edition of decals and flags to memorize the history of Alabama University flag for the future.
